Global seafood supply chain standardization focuses on laboratory testing, inspection, and certification. Bangladesh has 14 laboratories accredited by the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) for food safety testing, with only 4 specifically equipped for seafood analysis (Source: Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh, 2022). The technological advancement and evaluation of labs, global standards, compliance for key markets (EU, the US, and Japan) and standardization of marine fisheries are the key factors to achieving Bangladesh’s goal to become a regional hub for investment.
